Getting the best shot of your little one

The top tip on any list you find is often going to be “Get on their level”. There is a reason that it should be as it is great advice and will make a big difference immediately. If you get down on the same level as a child to take their pic, you give them power by allowing them to look into the camera straight on.

So go on, kneel down.

Once you're on their level, here's a few more tips for that perfect shot using any camera and even your phone:

Don’t go to the playground: Moving swings, distracting jungle gyms — playgrounds make for complicated compositions. Simple backgrounds are excellent for toddlers — then their rambunctious energy is the star of the photo,.

Do hold still: Your toddler’s in constant motion, so it’s your job to master the art of keeping the camera steady to avoid a blur.

Use props: Props can help your child relax and keep him or her busy while you take photos. Hand over a favorite teddy bear or toy.

Capture true emotion: The best photos are usually the ones that aren’t staged. It’s much more important to capture those “real” moments where your children are just having fun, rather than always trying to get “the perfect shot.”

Use Props & Outfits: This helps enhance your photos, keep them occupied and create an outstanding memory.

Choose Natural Light: No matter how you look at it, light is the single most important element in photography. Without light, there would be no photography of any sort.
